The Brief
As one of our oldest clients, we are proud to have been creating behavioural change campaigns for Recycle Devon for over 13 years. Indeed we have been working in the recycling arena for as long there has been recycling in the county, with the overriding brief to drive up recycling rates in Devon year on year.
At the start we began with simple messages encouraging people to recycle paper, tins and glass. Over the years our campaign messaging has become more niche and complex from campaigns that aim to reduce food waste to others that encourage clothing reuse.
Our Solution
We are responsible for all aspects of Recycle Devon’s communications; from the design, build and running of their website, to films, radio ads, posters and printed material. Over the years we have developed a tone of voice that uses gentle humour and an upbeat positivity to cut through the ‘media noise’. From singing carrots and talking pugs to nude cowboys and tin cans with big dreams, we have conceived and assembled an impressive cast to get our message over.
The campaign has been up for tender 5 times over the last 13 years, and RH are proud to say we have retained Recycle Devon each time – the results speak for themselves.
- Devon’s recycling rate has grown from 12% to 55%
- Devon are now one of the top 3 counties in the country for recycling
Over the past 12 years, Recycle Devon’s campaigns have won over a dozen recycling awards and a ‘Chip Shop’ award for film.
